Business Continuity Services
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning have become one of the critical components of proper corporate governance. IT downtime can translate into a revenue loss and even downright bankcruptcy. Business Continuity Systems are now being required by the Sarbanes-Oxley act for all US listed companies, including their offshore affiliates, and is required for all commercial banks worldwide. It is also mandated in most OECD countries, and applies to their suppliers and service providers. Since the Philippines has become a major supplier of BPO services, local providers must ensure that they have a BCP in place.
DataOne BCP services include the following:
Redundant Infrastructure: DataOne is designed to deliver mission critical BCP platforms. It possesses the necessary resources such as Command Control Center, Recovery Work Area, Network Operations Center, Fully Furnished Conference Room, Secured Printer Room, Tape Vault and Security Operations Center.
Computing on Demand: DataOne can provide servers, storage, network connectivity and equipment necessary to support mission critical systems, for which uptime cannot be compromised.
Virtual PBX: DataOne also offers solution such as provision of temporary computers, office, and telephony, through its virtual IP PBX solution (See IP Telephony section)
BCP Conceptualization: DataOne can assist in the conceptualization of the BCP, and help design the technical solution, as well as the back up and recovery procedures.
DataOne offers 3 levels of business continuity services:
1. Cold Disaster Recovery Services
DataOne Cold Server Recovery service relies on off-site tape warehousing, in which duplicate backup tapes are physically moved to a DataOne's data center. Tapes are stored in Media Safe, which is a fireproof in accordance to industry standards. Should the tapes be needed, they are taken out of storage and loaded on the recovery server.
2. Warm Disaster Recovery Services
With this solution, the servers at the alternate location are pre-loaded with the operating systems and applications and running periodic updates, ready to take over from the primary site. DataOne generally offers this service with servers that can be used simultaneously for non-critical tasks such as backups, application development, or quality assurance, requiring only minor reconfiguring to switch to production support.
3. Hot Disaster Recovery Services or Parallel Data Center Services
For mission critical IT systems, DataOne offers Hot DR or even Parallel Data Center services. Today, it has the capability to deploy and combine various high-availability technologies to ensure that the customer can instantly recover from any major disaster.
In a Parallel environment, DataOne acts as "replica" of the customer's data center and has the ability to take-over the IT operations via an automated fail-over mechanism.
Aside from redundant facilities, DataOne's multiple and carrier neutral infrastructure allows high-capacity bandwidth (up to optical speeds) to be terminated directly to the customer's systems inside DataOne.
For real-time recovery and reliability of customer data, our network infrastructure supports host-based data replication in tandem with industry partners who offer replication software. For high-end data mirroring requirements in parallel data center operations, disk-based mirroring technologies are available via its storage partners.
